Dear Representative [LAST NAME]:
As a member of the Junior League of Birmingham, MI, I am writing to urge your support of Senate Bills 70-76. This bipartisan package of bills would create the “Address Confidentiality Program” within the Dept. of the Attorney General and would provide survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking with a means of keeping their address confidential.
I understand that a House bipartisan package of bills, also on the Address Confidentiality Program, was recently introduced. I have not yet had the opportunity to review the House bills, but it is my understanding that the House package is intended to supplement the Senate bills.
While the details of the final package should be worked out shortly, I would urge you to please support and see that legislation creating an Address Confidentiality Program is passed as soon as possible. While not all survivors need this to be safe, it is critical that we make the option available to those who do need such a program for their safety and the safety of their families.
Thank you for your consideration of my views.
